The votes are in and, if you’ve been paying attention, it should come as no surprise that Juno was our big winner. In fact, it was selected on over 50% of the ballots. A pretty big deal considering the ballot had over 150 choices! Additional winners are listed below.

One word of caution! Don’t expect to see these DVDs available tomorrow. First, they have to be delivered, then processed and cataloged into the library system. Some of these movies don’t even have a release date yet and others won’t be released until late March or April. We’ve ordered the ones that are available and we’ll get them processed as quickly as possible, but don’t be frustrated if you can’t get that favorite movie until late in the semester.

Its that time again! A happy, happy, HAPPY time of year for all…time to buy NEW ECKLES FLIX!

In case you don’t know, Eckles Flix is a collection of fun and interesting DVDs available for check out by Mount Vernon residents. Flix are free (as long as you return them on time) and completely student chosen! You can check out our current collection here.

There are three ways to vote:
1) Get your behind over to Eckles and pick up a paper ballot (so retro…)
2) Print out this Flix Ballot and return it to the Eckles Circulation Desk (not retro, but still quaint)
3) Take a look at the Flix Ballot and then email your ten choices to us at eckles@gwu.edu. (So hot. So now.)

We will tabulate the votes (no hanging chads, I promise) and announce the winners on this site on March 3rd. We’ll buy as many movies as we can with our allotted budget (last year it was about 50) and you should be able to kick back with some new movies after Spring Break.

As Confusing as a Palm Beach Ballot? I think not.

At least one person has had a small problem completing the Official Eckles Flix Ballot properly. Where the ballot says to circle 10 choices, they chose 22. Just so everything stays above-board, I wanted to let you know how this situation was handled.

Since the ballots are anonymous, I can’t just contact the voter and ask them to choose ten. Therefore, I am picking the ten choices I like best out of their 22 and counting those. If you can think of a better and/or more fair way to handle this situation I would be happy discuss it. The best bet, however, is only to vote for 10.

It seems like everyone is excited about the new Eckles Flix! In only two days of voting, we have received many, many ballots. Here is a brief update on the voting so far:
