5/13 Asian-American Heritage Celebration

The Gelman Library System (GLS) Diversity Group cordially invites you to our Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month Celebration on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 from 11:30 a.m. to  2:00 p.m. at The Gelman Library’s Room 207. Regional refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public.

Guest Speakers:
* Representative from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia
* Jon Melegrito - Civil rights advocate and community organizer. He worked at The Gelman Library for 27 years and was the Head of the Circulation Department when he retired in 1997. He is the founding executive director of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) and its current communications director.

The next time you’re at Gelman, make sure to visit floors four through six to see the photos chosen from over 80 entries. And then, view them on line at Gelman’s flickr page and leave a comment for your favorite photographers.

The exhibit will be up from April 25th to May 19th.

on the 1st Floor and 3rd Floor

We have heard your suggestions! Due to the high demand for study space during final exams, the 1st Floor and 3rd Floor will remain open 24-hours:

Thursday – Tuesday, May 1st-12th open 24-hours*
Tuesday, May 13th 7 AM – 10 PM
Wednesday –Friday, May 14th-16th 7 AM – 6 PM
Saturday-Sunday, May 17th - May 18th 12 PM – 6 PM
Monday, May 19th Begin Summer Schedule

*The front entrance will remain open 24-hours. Please enter through the turnstiles.
